Food Revolution Summit 2019

I loved the Food Revolution Summit 2019! Tuned into almost.. every replay. I think that I missed two. Really powerful speakers and insights.

For the first time, I feel myself edging toward veganism.
I have always refrained before because I love fish and egg dishes so much.. but the speakers and topics covered
had a great impact on me.. No doubt that I will not be having as much.

Also, I have gone into “plant-overdrive”. I am juicing every day, and have prepared a massive salad, hummus dish and vegetable pasta dish for the week ahead. Also, cutting back on my daily coffee-shop matcha latte since the first ingredient is sugar.

Let’s conclude from all of this, that the Food Revolution Summit 2019 was really GREAT and I highly recommend that you tune in to the next one.

First a bit of context for you-

What is the Food Revolution Summit?

Food Revolution Summit is a free online annual event hosted by John Robbins and Ocean Robbins that interviews many of the world’s leading and most respected “food and health” experts. From this summit, you can learn the latest cutting edge insights on the best food habits to incorporate into your lifestyle.

The event broadcasts live each day for one week but after each interview food revolution summit replays are available online to listen to for an additional day. Food revolution recipes were also available to subscribers.

My take-aways after Food Revolution Summit 2019

1. Vegans will grow exponentially over next few years. Many major health advocates will be vegan

I have no doubt whatsoever that the number of vegans will grow exponentially over the next few years. Meat eaters (those who eat red meat and processed in particular) will dramatically diminish. They will become the minority of people who do not care much about health. Dairy, same deal.

2. The Medical Industry will finally properly integrate Nutrition into training of doctors

The Medical Industry will take onboard preventative lifestyle medicine. When I say take onboard, I mean that doctors will need to learn it in order to pass their exams. The medical profession is beginning to recognize the health benefits of a plant based diet but we will still wait for that day when we will see ultimate integration.

3. Treatment of disease will also educate on lifestyle going forward

Treatment of disease and sickness will change from being a pure “lets fix this approach” to the addition of ” lets identify root cause and also educate on that” approach. Doctors will finally become teachers just like the name means.

4. Protein-obsessed athletes will become less protein-obsessed

The science is in the last few years from leading world scientists that there is actually an advantage , until we are in our very senior years, to have a lower protein diet. We actually slow aging with lower protein diets, we reduce risk of chronic disease, cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. To gain protein is actually going to make the body ages faster. As long as you are eating enough calories a day, you never need to worry when you are on a plant-based diet.

My favourite quotes from Food Revolution Summit 2019

She who forgets the language of gratitude can never be on speaking terms with happiness.

There are two kinds of cardiologists – the vegans and the ones who refuse to read the science.

How this cutting-edge nutrition event has impacted me on a personal level (aside from embracing veganism!)

1. More likely to skip a meal

Some of the hottest scientific data of the last years has been the important role of some form of fasting to promote health and longevity. And the most accessible one is the one which is about 12 or 13 hours a day. Skipping a meal could be a great time to give to allow the body repair and heal.

2. More likely to prepare and plan

It is easier to control the healthiness of a meal if you make it yourself. It is on the run when situations fall apart. The key is to plan in advance.

2. May potentially buy the books of the experts who impressed me the most

So, I did not convert after the Summit and buy the “Empowerment package” that the event sells! However, I can say that I have already checked out Ocean and John Robbins books on Amazon. I have also made a mental note of the experts who impressed me the most and am quite likely to engage further there!
